Two friends decided to brave the elements and play a round of golf. The only course in the area with the guts to allow play was Willow Springs, a very beautiful executive course that features a european flair with mounding and tall heather. The golfers were delighted that someone would let them play and they embarked upon their round. After a few holes, a light snow began to fall. As the snow fell, the course took on a magical feel and the two golfers reveled in this truly existential golf moment. They decided that they would attempt to recreate that experience every Christmas eve – in the form of a golf tournament. Thus The Christmas Queen Annual Golf Tournament was born and has generated some incredible moments throughout the years. With some luck, the future will hold many exciting finishes and heroic shots. With even more luck, maybe Johnston won't three-putt the 17th. Hope springs eternal.
